Chickens
Are chickens are out in their coop/run. They are loving the space and thriving. We have a few modifications to make in early spring.
Garden
The raised beds are put together and filled! We had to use raised beds with fresh purchased soil because we have a HUGE black walnut in our yard, and black walnut tree roots secrete toxins in the soil around them. These toxins affect plants so the tree doesn't have to compete with surrounding plants. The toxins unfortunately work very well, as evidenced by the state of our backyard. So raised beds is our best solution.
Baked Goods
I just tested out a new zucchini banana bread recipe and it was a success! If you are interested in (local orders only) please send me a message. Also the Financer bought me two large pullman pans so I can make double loaves of bread.
Flowers
We have our first round of edible flower seeds started! It is early, but the seeds I have are old and we are unsure if they will germinate so I started a few seeds from each packet to see if any grow.
