Our chickens are two months old and have been moved into their coop. There is a heat lamp in their coop at this time, but we are having a very mild winter so they are out in their run during the day. The littles get to help with them every morning and love snuggling the hens.
First round of edible flower seeds have been started in a tray inside. We shall see if any of the seeds germinate since they are old.

One of the modifications to the run will be a small chicken safe garden that will be planted under this pallet, the pallet (which still needs a wire top) will protect the plants. Chickens like to scratch and will damage anything growing in their run, this will allow the plants to grow, they will be able to eat the tops of those plants but not kill them. There is space all around the pallet for them to scratch and take dust bathes. The chickens will also be allowed into the main yard (when we are outside) so they have plenty of space to be chickens.
